Weekend trip to Barcelona
Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain and without doubt the most visited by tourists from around the world. If you're in Spain you have to go and see this beautiful internationally known city. It's the capital of Catalonia and its cultural hub. It's a city of artists, painters and architects. Gaudi has been immortalized in this city through his works that will last forever.

Saturday and Sunday in Barcelona:
We'll travel through the early hours of the morning and we'll arrive in Barcelona in the morning. We'll start with a panoramic view of the cityfrom Tibidabo, an old theme park with a basilica and an incredible viewpoint where you can see the coast and the immense city of Barcelona.
We'll go to Park Guell, which has an impressive view of Catalonia and Gaudis modernist works.
After the park we'll go to our Hostel in Las Ramblas.
We'll visit the centre with a tour guide.
We'll visit the Cathedral, the gothic area, the Sagrada Familia, the Picasso Museum, the Boqueria Market and much much more!
On Saturday evening we'll go out and party in one of the famous clubs in Barcelona!
Fo those who want to you can go to Camp Nou.
On Sunday we'll have a wander around Montjuic with great views of the city.

- The official hymn of Barcelona is the song 'Barcelona' by Freddie Mercury and Monsterrat Caballe.
- In Barcelona the population density is very high 16,000 people per every 1m squared. According to this number is the 48th most densley populated area in the world.
- There are two legends about the founding of Barcelona. The first legend says that the city was founded by Hercules 400 years before Rome was founded. After Barcelona was rebuilt in the third century BC by Carthage Amilcar Barca, father of Hannibal. In honor of his great Carthaginian family he named the city Barsino. According to another legend the city was founded by the same Amílcar Barca after 133 B.C. when the Romans had conquered the Iberian town of Laie.
- In the Fabra Observatory in 1921 the Spaniard Jose Comas Solá discovered the asteroid (945) Barcelona, which was named in honor of the hometown of the astronomer who discovered it.
- The construction of the Cathedral of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, which began during the life of Gaudi in 1882 is still not finished, and completion is scheduled for 2026.
- The most lively street in Baeclona is Las Ramblas, and in one day more that 150,000 people walk down it.
- Together with the Canaletas square, Barcelona has a plaque that says 'All that drink water from this fountaing with fall in love with Barcelona and will come back here again'. This fountain is a favoutite meeting place for football fans.
