The city of Teruel has it's own legend of Romeo and Juliet. At heart of this story based on trued events are two young lovers  - Isabel de Seguara and Diego de Marcilla who lived during the twelfth century.
The story of love between these two is as sad as it is beautiful: the youngsters fell deeply in love and dreamed of getting married. However, the girls parents had their own ideas about marriage and dreamed of a wealthy husband for their daughter. They said that she could marry her love on one condition: over the course of five years the boy would need to earn a fortune to be able to marry their daughter. But on the last day of the five years they married Isabel to a nobleman of Teruel. Diego returned the same day and upon seeing the wedding, died of saddness and sorrow. The following day Isabel also died of unhappiness upon seeing Diegos tomb.

The young lovers were buried together and the people of Teruel decided to immortalise their memory and built a mausoleum in honour of the pair. Here in the bronze sacrophagus there are sculptures of the lovers holding hands.
Today you can visit the mauseoleum of the Lovers of Teruel which has lots of interesting things to see.
