A day of sun, beach and sport. Climb to the top of the Peñon de Ifach and dive in the crystal clear waters of the beaches of Calpe. One of the places you can not miss in the Valencian Community.

CALPE: SEA AND MOUNTAIN

Happy Erasmus invites you to discover new corners, hidden paradises and all those essential places in SpainCalpe is a small and beautiful coastal town that offers fantastic corners and emblematic places.

The city of Calpe is guarded by the Peñón de Ifach. A natural park made up of a 332m high rocky mass that has become one of the characteristic symbols of the Costa Blanca. This place is a meeting point for climbers, divers and hikers.

Plan of the day:
-Departure from Valencia in the morning
-Climbing to Peñón de Ifach (optional)
-Free time to enjoy beaches and calas (great for snorkeling lovers!) and maybe watch flamingos!
-Departure to Valencia

Anyone who wants can challenge their own limits on the ascent to the top of the Rock, from where we will contemplate the impressive views of the Mediterranean and we will even be able to see the island of Formentera, Ibiza and the Cape of Santa Pola. During the ascent we will find samples of fauna and flora of the Natural Park, which is home to more than 80 species of birds and around 400 species of plants. The journey to the top consists of two levels of difficulty, a very simple first section and a second of medium difficulty, which requires more skill and dexterity, but especially suitable shoes.

Calpe is also a historical city, where archaeological remains dating from the Bronze Age are found. This city was key during the Roman Empire, and some of the inheritances of this time that are conserved are the Queen's Baths.

In this picturesque city, we can find from infinite beaches of fine sand, to hidden coves and pristine waters, where we can rest and sunbathe. Calpe is an ideal place for scuba diving and water sports, so we encourage you to try one.

In addition, this city also awaits the "Parque de las Salinas", a set of lagoons of former salt exploitation, where a large number of birds reside, as well as an important colony of pink flamingos and storks.

In spring, summer and autumn we can enjoy its incredible beaches and the warm and crystal clear water.
One of the sports that are practiced a lot on the stone beach that we can find behind the Peñon d'Ifach is Snorkel! An unforgettable experience! Spectacular sea beauty! You can contemplate the fish in their natural environment, the seabed and its flora.
