TRIP TO SAGUNTO AND CASTELLÓN DE LA PLANA - A DAY OF IMMERSION IN HISTORY AND LEGENDS

We will make our first stop in Sagunto:

We will travel through more than 2000 years of History, from the Roman Theater and passing through the Medieval Castle, a guide will tell us the history of the city from where Hanibal set out to challenge an Empire.

There is over 2,000 years of history and life in Sagunto which as a result has many differnt monuments that will take you back in time. A history full of emotion and curiosity. After the Iberians, Romans and its Mediaval Jewish quarter the city was blockaded and conquered by the very same Hanibal, and the conquest of the city was the trigger for the second Punic war between Roma and Carthage.

We will visit the Roman Theatre from the first century which had the capacity for 6,000 people, the immense castle that runs for almost a whole kilometre.

We will also wander the mediavel streets and the famous Juderia district. All of this will be accompanied by a guide who will explain everything you need to know so you can enjoy all there is to see.

After visiting Sagunto we will continue our trip with a visit to Castellón de La Plana!

Despite the fact that Castellón de la Plana is an important industrial city in Spain, it is also a very popular tourist destination due to its history and architecture.
Castellón de la Plana (Castelló de la Plana) is considered relatively "young" - it was only formed in 1252.
The historic center of Castellón is 4 kilometers away from the coast. The city was founded on the plain, but gradually grew to the coast, and now all its avenues and streets face the sea.
Today, more than 180,000 persons reside in Castellón.

The city has developed strongly in the last century. The growth of the industry began in 1991, the modern Jaime I University was created. Castellón is considered the main city of the "orange coast" - Costa del Azahar, the center of the province.
