We are giving you the opportunity for an unforgettable trip to visit the olive trees of Ulldecona, to taste the classic olive oil, and to visit Morella.
It's one of the most beautiful towns in Valencia and we want to share the most beautiful areas of Spain with you so come along!

We will start the visit in Ulldecona (Tarragona, south of Cataluna). This is where we will visit the largest area of ancient olive trees in the world. It's a natural museum that will make an impression on everyone. There are trees that have lived since the Iron Age, some planted even before the arrival of the Romans which are over 2,000 years old! Imagine the history they have seen, how many battles, harvests and frosts they have survived. These thick and woody trunks have been here for two mileniums. Completely incredible! It's practically a miracle that they are still here today considering there were people ready to cut them down!

In the 20th century they started to change these almost immortal trees to plant other varities that were younger and produced more in order to commercialise the oil in a more industrial way. There were even those fanciful few who paid a fortune to buy a millenial olive tree and plant it in their garden. The farmers agreed to sell them because there was less oil from these trees than the younger varieties.

But fortunately in 2009 they were Heritage protected, and their oil which is the only one like it in the world is a real treasure. They only collect 9,000 litres of oil each year and it's sold like gold. This oil is even sold in the USA and Asia. We will have the opportunity to taste it and to value its worth ourselves. You can taste the history of 2,000 years.

In the surrounding area you will find stone mills where our ancestors would grind the olives to extract the oil. They are still being used! A professional guide will accompany us throughout the visit and will explain how the stone mills were used, how the tradition and art of the work joined more innovative technology and they will teach us all of the steps of  how to make this precious gold liquid.

Of course we will get to taste some of the oil and you will be able to see why it's the best in the world. It's more than the intense flavour of extra virgin olive oil and is carefully prepared in each step.
There is so much taste in this oil with a 2,000 year history.

Nearby the olive tree fields is the Ermita de la Peitat, a small building from the 7th century where you will be able to take the best pictures because the view from here is SPECTACULAR. This area has been inhabitated since the antiquity, demonstrated by the cave art found here.

From there we will go to Morella, one of the most beautiful towns in the Valencia region.
Morella is a medieval city, surrounded by an amazing wall that's 1,500 metres high. Passing over the wall is like passing through time to a town with gothic and renaissance buildings with narrow cobbled streets and it's as if the whole city is a museum. Every corner is worth photographing, its viewpoints, its preserved houses and its old bullring are unforgettable.

The jewel in the city's crown has to be the castle. And even from far away its jagged silhouette against the horizon is a spectacle. We will visit the Arciprestal Santa María La Mayor church and will wander the castle with a guide. You might be scared of the dungeons but the majestic towers, weapons courtyards, and the views will transport you to another distant time.

You will be able to learn about the history and the monuments with our guide and this will make the trip an unforgettable experience where you will learn lots!

We will then return to Valencia after a great day out!
