The province of Castellón is home to one of the most surprising places in the Valencian Community, the historic city of Peñíscola, a settlement territory of the Order of the Templars and of Papa Luna, among others.
You cannot miss this wonder, so join the Happy Erasmus team and come with us on this excursion.
In the morning we will go to Peñíscola, one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, which preserves part of the magic of bygone days in each of the corners and squares of its old town.
Its strong strategic situation in trade and war and its topographical impregnability have allowed the establishment of famous figures such as Jaime I, Pope Luna, Felipe V, Alfonso XIII since ancient times.
We will visit the most characteristic monuments of the city such as the Castle of Papa Luna, located on a tomb that goes into the sea, and we will visit the alleys paved with boulders, the Mediterranean squares, the whitewashed houses, the hermitages and the walls that have protected the city for more than 2,500 years. (If you want to visit the Peñíscola Castle you must buy the ticket in advance)
This city will make you feel like a timeless traveler or like a protagonist of some of the famous movies and series that have used the scenes of Peñíscola - like "Game go Thrones" for example ;)
The beach of Peñiscola, apart from being so beautiful with its white sands and blue waters, also has all kinds of entertainments: you can practice paddle surfing (right next to the rocks of the castle - impressive), you can go to 'banana' - a very famous aquatic fun that consists of being towed on a structure that looks like a banana to a motor boat. There are also options to rent the water scooter. On this beach there is everything for you to have a great time!
