AT THIS EVENT THE BULLS AND HORSES DON'T SUFFER ANY KIND OF HARM

We will take a private coach in the morning from Valencia and we will return in the early hours of the morning after the festival.

Did you know that the Spanish people are very faithful to their traditions? Did you know that some festivals and the way they are celebrated have not changed at all in recent centuries? Well now you do!
Happy Erasmus is offering you the opportunity to come to a typical Spanish festival where there will be plenty to see and do: the running of the bulls, sangria, wine, ham, and many more party activities throughout the day and into the night! In addition to this the city of Segorbe breathes history with its castle, its walls and its narrow streets.
You won't forget it!

This is a festival day in a town in the Valencian community where you will be able to make new friends and integrate yourself into the Spanish festival culture.

During the festivities of Segorbe you will be able to witness this exciting scene in which several riders guide, with great skill, a herd of bulls among the crowd. Excitement and risk go hand in hand in this unique celebration. It comes down to the horses guiding a herd of bulls in the streets of the city. And there are no stands or protection: there are two lines of people who have come to see the running and you have to rely on the expertise of the riders! It is a typical Spanish provincial festival.

You might think: What makes all of this so interesting? Well every year 200,000 visitors come to participate in this festivale declared an International Tourist Interest.

A little history: The land on which is Segorbe is found, was already inhabited in the Paleolithic times. When the Visigoths lived in these lands Segorbe was the center of the diocese. It reached its greatest prosperity in the eighth century, with the arrival of the Moorish people. Since 1238 the city converted to Christianity, and since 1435 -has been attached to the Crown of Aragon.

The period of economical and cultural development ended with the Kingdom of Spain's war of independence - Napoleon's troops caused serious damage to Segorbe. In the 20th century, thanks to the development of tourism and the increasing population, the city once again became very important.

Furthermore you can make the most of the day by visiting the monuments. The ancient wall, the Arch of Verónica, the Tower of botxí, the Tower of la cárcel, the Castle de la Estrella, the Cathedral and other churches.

In the evening you can expect to party! There are many street parties throughout the city!
