Weather forecast to keep up with the weather and climate that we will have in Valencia. Predictions according to AEMET, State Meteorological Agency.
The Valencia climate is the typical Mediterranean coast climate which is characterized by its warmth and humidity. The summers here are quite hot reaching temperatures between 26ºC and 40ºC. The winters are mild with temperatures between 7ºC and 15ºC thanks to the Mediterranean, but for this same reason there is high humidity making it hotter than it is. The coldest month is January, and the hottest month is August. In spring and autumn, the temperature changes drastically during the day. In the daytime it can be 25ºC and sunny but can then suddenly change to 15ºC so be careful when going out.

In general Valencia has good weather and good temperature. We start going to the beach at the beginning of May and can enjoy good conditions till mid-October. It's a European paradise!

The sea is warm enough to swim in from July but there are those brave few ones who swim in the sea in March too!!

In Valencia it almost never rains, but when it does it doesn’t last long, and it rains quite heavily.

In Valencia there are no floods (since the displacement of the river Turia in 1973) nor are there any earthquakes, hurricanes, or tornados. It is a very safe place and is not threatened by any natural disasters.

Here is some advice on what clothes you will need during your stay in Valencia:

In winter: although it’s not particularly cold during the day but it can be very cold at night. You need to wrap up warm, but you don't need skiing clothes like you would for the north of Spain (unless you go to the mountains to do some skiing). You must take into account the fact that the houses and flats in Valencia are not prepared for winter, they don't usually have central heating and if they do this makes the gas or electricity bill particularly high! So be prepared for a cold house, bring warm pyjamas and an electric blanket if you have one!

In summer: apart from flip flops, swimwear, and a couple of T-shirts you don't need much. Of course, sun cream is a must because it gets very hot and normally you will be on the beach or at uni. There aren't dress codes for university or for the streets of Spain so don't worry about dressing for the beach all the time.

In autumn and spring: it might rain a little, in the day it's sunny but at night it's cold. When leaving the house always bring a coat even if it’s 30 degrees.

In general the weather is great! There is no summer in Europe like it. So welcome to paradise!
