It's obvious why the city is named the open air museum. The historical centre of the city is full of medieval buildings, surrounded by thick walls. Toledo has a nickname "the city of three cultures" which is not surprising given that almost all the houses here are a reminder of an era in which the Muslims, Christians and the Jews peacefully coexisted and the Arab influence is particularly noticeable.  A large number of unique monuments and the special atmosphere of Toledo attracts many tourists. It's as if the narrow streets take you back to the era that the city was the capital and home to royalty.

Tthere is so much to see and do here and you will definietly be impressed!

We will take the bus to a panoramic viewpoint of the city to see it's stunning position from the cliffs of the Tajo river (one of Spains main rivers) with incredible views.

We will be able to explore the palaces, the cathedral, and the house museum of Greco, an internationally famous painter from the sixteenth century.

The steel in Toledo is considered the best in Europe for making swords and daggers, and Toledo is still considered a city of armourers and jewellers.
It's here that they use the medieval Arab method called Damascene to work with the steel. It consists of applying threads of gold or silver in the weapons or steel jewelry.

Although nowadays the majority of the masters of this trade in Valencia dedicate their time to making copies of famous swords, because these are very popular among tourists, some of the amourers are still making real armour for different country's armies, and for steel lovers and knife collectors. Hollywood has been a faithful client of the Toledo steel makers for decades and its most famous swords are those in "The Lord of the Rings"
