Total Christmas immersial: visit the largest Christmas Nativity scene in Spain!

The monumental Bethlehem of Xàtiva, the biggest in Spain, attracts tens of thousands of visitors at Christmas. The Bethlehem, which occupies 1,600 square meters, is characterized by taking care of every detail since 1999. And it is that there is not only a manger, here numerous scenes are recreated with life-size figures by fallas artists. In addition, real elements are used for decoration such as fruits and vegetables or live animals such as ducks, geese, bulls, sheep, donkeys or turkeys (always under strict veterinary control and respecting animal welfare).

Our first stop will be in the municipality of Xátiva, which was one of the most important towns in the Kingdom of Valencia. Despite being burned in 1707, Xátiva still preserves an important artistic heritage, such as the Xátiva Castle.

How could it be otherwise, the Happy Erasmus group has scheduled a visit to the Castle, which has been the scene and witness of numerous conflicts. This architectural monument is divided into the Castell Menor and the Castell Major, through which we can find influences of different origin, since its roots are Iberian and Roman, but most of the preserved walls and towers are of Islamic or Gothic origin.

After visiting the castle - you can not miss a walk through its old town declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1982. In it you will find several of the essential monuments of Xàtiva. Losing yourself in its alleys and its Arab framework of the upper neighborhood is a pleasure for the senses. During the walk we can admire its spectacular catalog of monuments, and discover its squares, churches, palaces and stately buildings that will transport us to past times. The omnipresent Castell, the majestic Collegiate Church of Santa Maria, the Plaza de la Trinitat, the Royal Hospital are some of the most outstanding monuments.
